The rabbit's tale
Research project and VR animation about the wildlife at the Maasvlakte.
To go down the rabbit hole: “To enter into a situation or begin a process or journey that is particularly strange, problematic, difficult, complex, or chaotic, especially one that becomes increasingly so as it develops or unfolds”.
During my trip at the Maasvlakte, I researched how humans, plants, and wild animals coexist in this new human-made environment. The Maasvlakte is a blooming new piece of land, in which you always find exuberant pioneers—in this case the rabbits.
Humans have tried to get a grip on this population, but seemed to fail egregiously. The rabbits have
The rabbits have created an infrastructure of their own,
moving underground and underneath the human-made
industrial structures. All of this symbolizes that nature cannot be controlled by humans.
The research is summarised into a children's fairy tale executed as a VR animation.
