The rabbit's tale

Research project and VR animation about the wildlife at the Maasvlakte.

To go down the rabbit hole: “To enter into a situation or begin a process or journey that is particularly strange, problematic, difficult, complex, or chaotic, especially one that becomes increasingly so as it develops or unfolds”.

During my trip at the Maasvlakte, I researched how humans, plants, and wild animals coexist in this new human-made environment. The Maasvlakte is a blooming new piece of land, in which you always find exuberant pioneers—in this case the rabbits.

Humans have tried to get a grip on this population, but seemed to fail egregiously. The rabbits have

The rabbits have created an infrastructure of their own,

moving underground and underneath the human-made

industrial structures. All of this symbolizes that nature cannot be controlled by humans.

The research is summarised into a children's fairy tale executed as a VR animation.

Music from the album Turquoise by Terilekst.

The outcome of this research project is a VR movie (best watched with VR Glasses): https://youtu.be/AZsrPqjb1r8
